Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

The comedian

Best-selling children's author and comedian David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, according to an announcement.

A representative for the firm stated: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an review of claims about inappropriate behaviour directed at women.

The company has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold more than 60 million copies internationally in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins fifteen years ago.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

This development follows the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
