Homages Pour In for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Are Sealed.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of esteemed filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, peers and loved ones are still paying respects to the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who starred in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt able to express about his personal sorrow.

"Adequate time has elapsed that I can now put my grief into words," shared Elwes, saying that his first meeting with Reiner left him smitten. "Once we started passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the movie, remarking that he cannot recall "a single day without joy".

"This story is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Things that Rob held dear. That is part of the many reasons he was the ideal person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different essay, legendary director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved being with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese mentioned Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, portraying the father of the lead role.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he comprehended the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles court official ruled to bar the release of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the Los Angeles Police Department.

A court order placed a security hold on the files to restrict the public release of "any investigative information, documents, files or images" connected to the probe.

The Medical Examiner's office had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Response and Criticism

After the killings, public personalities expressed varying responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, making controversial statements that were widely condemned by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan lent his perspective to the critics last week. Conversing on his program, Rogan described the statements as "shocking" and suggested they demonstrated a concerning absence of compassion.

Rogan concluded by remarking that an associate ought to have stepped in when the choice to weigh in on the death was made.
