Palestinian-American Youth Freed Following 270 Days in Israeli Imprisonment

A American-Palestinian teenager having endured nine months in Israel's custody absent formal charges has been freed.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention last February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing from his Florida home accused of stone-throwing toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

American diplomatic officials expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Currently aged sixteen, required hospitalization for treatment immediately after release, according to close relatives.

Family described him as pale, underweight, and experiencing medical problems acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "immense relief".

Zeyad Kadur said the family had been "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" over the last nine months.

"Currently, we are focused on getting Mohammed urgent medical care necessary for his recovery following exposure to harsh conditions and brutal treatment throughout his detention."

US officials said it would continue to offer diplomatic assistance for the Ibrahim family.

{"American leadership considers paramount than the safety and security for United States citizens"," officials stated.

A group of American legislators had signed a letter to diplomatic officials and the administration, demanding more be done to secure his release.

The father, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business in Florida, had earlier stated his son only confessed regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

There were no visits or spoken to Mohammed since February, and only heard what had happened to him through judicial records.

The teenager remained absent formal charges in Ofer prison throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing adult prisoners, featuring prisoners sentenced regarding severe security violations and murder.

An estimated several hundred young Palestinian detainees being held in Israeli jails, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges while advocacy organizations, including UN bodies, say some have suffered physical abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting seeking justice for their relative Sayfollah Musallet.

The 20-year-old dual US citizen who the Palestinian health ministry said died from beating by Israeli settlers during a confrontation during summer.

During that period, military authorities reported authorities were looking into accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.

The two cousins were employed together in the family ice cream shop in Tampa, Florida.

No charges have been filed for the cousin's murder.

"We expect US authorities to safeguard our relatives," Mr Kadur said.
