Two-time heavyweight champion Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday evening. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Under Observation for Minor Injuries
The sports star had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, representatives had said on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update online that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home.
“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
His release from the hospital arrives after the sports world had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the terrible crash.
